Wind up better, for more power
Most everyone likes a tip to gain more power off the tee. A good backswing is a huge part of the equation to big drives. To make a good backswing, you have to do more than just turn your shoulders and hips. For real power, your midsection- the space from your sternum to your belt buckle has to wind up and coil.
A good drill to help you train your body to do this is, hold the club with your left hand only, in your address position. Then, take your right hand and grab your left side, just below your rib cage. As you start the backswing with your left arm/shoulder, have your right hand pull your left side away from the target. This exercise gives you the “coil” you need to make a powerful backswing, setting up a strong move into the ball.
Sincerely,
